Our 3-year-old, 90lb mix breed has both seasonal and food allergies that we're aware of. He has a sensitivity to chicken but does great with Salmon or anything fish. We added the Surf & Turf Gently Cooked Recipe to his Open Farm Wild Caught Salmon & Ancient Grains Dry Dog food as a topper. Depending on the time of year and his activity level will depend on how much we give him. He often runs a few miles a couple times a week or walks a few miles on the days he's not running, so we make sure we're increasing his calories for his activity level.
He LOVES this new addition to his meals. You can see the carrots, green beans, kale, and other fresh ingredients. It doesn't smell as fishy as I thought it would. Previously, I was making a homemade blend that had very similar ingredients. Open Farms omits the rice filler and our boy's coat has been great as well as no tummy issues. He didn't have any problems with the transition and knows when this is the topper for his meal. We add the beef bone broth to the kibble too as well as some fresh blueberries, strawberries, unsweetened applesauce, pumpkin, or dog safe yogurt. We add whatever (dog safe) fresh fruits and veggies are in season.
Two reasons why I only gave 4 starts: (1) they don't offer delivery yet. Only pick up option right now. (2) The size is a bit small and hard to judge online.
