It’s Spring at Polka Dog Bakery!
Hear Ye! Hear Ye! Round up the ornithologists and start herding the shutterbugs…spring is coming hard around the bend and the flowers and birds can’t wait to be noticed and frozen in digital memory.
We love this time of year around the Polka Dog Bakery. Not only do we start baking up some new fun frosted flower dog treats for the burgeoning bloom, but we also get loads and loads of new merchandise from many of our favorite suppliers. Looking for a new flower power collar? Got ‘em. Looking for some freshly shed long-lasting Elk Antlers? We’ve got piles of them at either our South End or Jamaica Plain Stores. It’s almost as if we’ve reawakened with the flora and fauna, and what better way to herald in the coming of a new season than to outfit your dog and cat in something that screams primavera!
To be fair, winter around these parts this year was pretty JV. One snowfall in six months. You’d a thought we were living in Dallas. But all that aside, even the occasional 75 degree day in February doesn’t subdue one bit the thought of long lazy sunny afternoons at the water’s edge with a cold apertif, a full picnic basket and a happy dog with a polka dog bag of the finest homemade treats in the world.
We live for this kind of stuff. The sun rises earlier, the earth warms the grass, we wipe the slumber out of our eyes and see the colors shine. We’re alive again and our dogs can tell. They walk with an easy step. A switch has been flipped. Their noses track close to the ground, almost as if they’re trying to sniff in the life that blooms underneath.
This is our call to you: stuff your saddlebags for spring with a rainbow of polka dog goodies and while you’re at it, plan a walk. Plan a hike. Get outside. Fly a kite. Soak in the warmth.
Your dog is waiting for you.
